She performed in the 90s dyke sex scene in Anna Brownfield’s feature length docudrama The Bedroom, which documents six decades of sex in one bedroom, from the invention of the Pill to the sex toy phenomenon.

During her parliamentary campaigns for the Australian Sex Party, running for House of Representatives (2009), Senate (2010) and Lord Mayor of Sydney (2012), Zahra and Angela White made history as the first candidates from a political party to film a porn scene together.

Prior to porn, Zahra was an award-winning striptease artist, pole dancer and centrefold model. Beginning as a podium and feature dancer at Men’s Gallery, Pure Platinum and Dancer’s Cabaret (back when it was in iconic Kings Cross), she later performed at Melbourne’s Centrefold Lounge, Darwin’s Honey Pot Club, Adelaide’s Crazy Horse, Townsville’s Santa Fe Gold, Brisbane’s Velvet Cigar, and Hush-Hush and Calendar Girls in New Zealand.

After competing as a finalist in Miss Pole Dance Australia in 2008, Zahra continued on to win the Open Pairs division of the Australian Pole Dance Championship in 2009 with her doubles partner Stacey Minx, and later the national title of Miss Nude Australia’s Pole Dance Champion 2012.

In her early days of striptease competitions she won Miss Nude NSW Most Unique Entertainer 2009, and went on to take home titles Miss Nude Dancers Cabaret 2010 and Miss Nude Pure Platinum 2011, later being crowned Miss Centrefold Oceania 2011 in her first international competition, winning a coveted $15,000 prize.

For six years Zahra was a pole instructor at world renowned Suzie Q Pole Studio and Madonna’s gym Hard Candy, during which time she interviewed many of her peers for her Masters thesis on queer and feminist activism in erotic labour.

Over her career, Zahra has performed in body paint at World Bodypainting Festival, been an art muse at Dr Sketchy’s Anti-Art School Tokyo, taught pole workshops in Stockholm, judged Miss Pole Dance Bavaria in Germany, and undressed on trapeze at Auckland Erotica Expo, and MC’d at Brisbane Sexpo.
